October 2005  Bodywork Continues

Rear quarters are mostly filler, before gouging it out I thought they could be repaired but replacement now seems the best idea.

Right side sill welded along the top but still held by screws on the lower edge.

New metal let into the side panel, although not rusted through the old metal is much thinner.

The new floor has improved the look of the inside already.

Cleaning up the inside of the bonnet, like the boot and bulkhead, with a heat gun would be very time consuming so these parts will get blasted. To minimize the risk of damage to the bonnet excess filler and paint are removed first.

Only 1 week since my last visit to the body shop and work has started on the rear quarter panels. Left quarter is already in with the bumper being used as a template to get the correct profile. Right side is more difficult with accident damage to the wheel arch to be fixed.
